Timeline
A week of deployments, incidents and maintenance windows across seven services, one lane per service. Every incident follows a deployment to another service, which caused it.
Pick a preset to reconfigure every chart
Not available
No timeline or range bars: the Gantt request (#1818) was closed without one, and bars start at zero, so items sharing a lane take transparent offset segments or a custom layer.
SourceOnly in the paid edition
The Range Bar series that draws timelines is only in AG Charts Enterprise.
SourceWhat to look for
- Lanes. Unovis takes each item's start, duration and lane (
x,lineDuration, lineRow) and draws the lanes with labels and alternating backgrounds. The other libraries draw floating bars on a band axis: Recharts, following its timeline example, needs one row per lane and oneBarper item in it, ECharts draws every item in a custom series'renderItemas in its Gantt example, and Chart.js needsgrouped: falseso the bars of different kinds share a lane. - Time axis. Chart.js' time scale needs a separate date adapter package, so its demo uses a linear scale with a step
of one day. TanStack Charts has no time scale of its own and takes d3-scale's
scaleTime, as its docs recommend. - Hover. Every library shows the item's title, service, kind and time. Recharts' default tooltip loses its heading
with
shared={false}, so the demo renders a customcontentin the default style. - Hide a kind. Unovis, Recharts, Chart.js, ECharts, Observable Plot and TanStack Charts hide it; Vega-Lite's legend highlights a kind instead. The added marks don't follow every legend: Chart.js annotations check the dataset's visibility themselves, and TanStack Charts' legend filters lines, areas and grouped bars but not rectangles or arrows, so the demo filters both itself.
- Randomize the data. Unovis moves every item to its new place, matched by
id. Observable Plot and Vega-Lite redraw without a transition. - Presets. Rounded (
lineCap) is one every library can draw; TanStack Charts draws the short items as ovals. Arrows (arrows) are elbows in Unovis, down from the cause and along the incident's lane into it. Chart.js (with the official annotation plugin), ECharts (alinesseries), Observable Plot and TanStack Charts (arrowmarks) draw straight arrows; Recharts and Vega-Lite have no arrowheads. Icons (lineStartIcon, lineEndIcon) are SVG symbols in Unovis. ECharts and Vega-Lite take the same SVG path as a symbol, Chart.js (a point annotation) and Observable Plot (animagemark) take it as an image in a hard-coded color, and Recharts and TanStack Charts have no icon or custom symbol option.
